FAQ

Which file types are supported?

STL, PLY, GLB and USDZ. Loading your own data is a feature of the paid version.

The file is too heavy to open, or I want to make it lighter

The free web app "Sirppi3D Web" reduces the triangle count of a 3D file so it becomes lighter. Its "Match Kururi size" button sets 500,000 triangles, suited to Kururi Clock. It runs entirely in your browser; your files are never uploaded.

What data size is safe?

Files up to 50 MB can be loaded. For smooth display we recommend 10 MB or less and about 500,000 polygons (or points, for PLY point clouds). Please reduce heavy data first with a decimation app.

Are colors shown?

PLY (vertex colors) and USDZ (material colors) can be shown in color. STL and GLB are shown as silhouettes only. Switch under “Display” in Settings.

The model looks sideways or upside down.

Switch between Z-up and Y-up under “Up axis” in Settings. “Auto” decides based on the file format.

How do I open Settings?

Double-tap the area where the 3D model is displayed.

Does the timer keep running if I leave the app?

Yes. The end time is recorded, so you get a notification when it finishes even while using another app (notifications must be allowed).

Does it use a lot of battery?

Kururi Clock keeps the 3D model rotating smoothly, so leaving the screen on uses more battery than usual and the device may get warm. For long use as a desk clock, keep it on a charger. To save battery, turn off “Auto-Lock” in Settings.

How do I restore my purchase?

Tap “Restore Purchases” in Settings. With the same Apple ID, your purchase will be restored.

Does it work on iPad?

This version is for iPhone only. iPad is not supported.
